Invite clarification...

Hi everyone!

I just want to clarify different timings for the wedding as we've had a few people ask...

For those invited from 1pm: you are invited to the service, meal and ceilidh.
For those invited from 3.30pm: you are invited to the yummy meal and ceilidh.
For those invited from 7.30pm: you are invited to the amazing ceilidh.

I hope that helps everything. You should all have my phone number and email so please do let me know if you have any questions about the day.

Wedding List

A couple of people have asked us about gifts recently...
We are holding off from publishing our list until we have our house and therefore have a delivery address!
As soon as it's available, you will be able to access the list here. Why not check back in the new year for an update? Thanks so much for you kind generosity.

Hotels

Hotels in Stamford

For those of you who would rather not worry about driving or paying for a taxi, Stamford has some very lovely hotels. Please click here for more info on a selection of local hotels and b&bs.
It's probably worth bearing in mind that Stamford is quite small and with upwards of 150 guests in town for our wedding (let along any other weddings taking place in the area on the same date), rooms could fill up quickly. Please see below for suggestions of other places to stay if you are looking further afield...
Hotels in Peterborough
Please have a look here for a list of hotels in Peterborough on TripAdvisor. If you would like a hotel close to Alwalton, we would recommend the Mariott Hotel or the Holiday Inn Express both of which are walking distance from the church.

Directions to the Reception

We're having the reception at The Stamford Arts Centre, Stamford.

Stamford is a lovely Georgian market town about 10 miles north of Peterborough, just off the A1. The Arts Centre is near St Marys Church in the middle of town.

Cars
The postcode for the Arts Centre is PE9 2DL and car parks in the town are well sign posted.

Parking
Unfortunately the Arts Centre does not have a car park and guests will need to park in one of the town's public car parks. The nearest long stay car park is the Wharf Road Car Park. However, for those without access needs, we would recommend parking a 5 minute walk away at the Cattle Market. From there it is a lovely walk over across the meadow and through some of the town's beautiful streets to the Arts Centre.

(Part of the walk to the Arts Centre from the Cattle Market car park).

All day parking in these two car parks is £3 and most are free after 6pm.

Public Transport
For people coming from the church, we would really like to encourage lift sharing as Alwalton to Stamford isn't an easy public transport route. As we mentioned in our previous post, if you are arriving by public transport, please let us know so we can encourage lift sharing or taxi sharing.
For people arriving for the reception or evening shenanigans, Stamford Arts Centre is within walking distance of both the train and bus stations.

Directions to the Church

We're getting married at St Andrews church, Alwalton.
Alwalton is a small village on the outskirts of Peterborough, not far from the East of England Showground and the Lynch Wood Business Park.

Cars
The village itself is small and the church is easy to spot. There is execellent access from the A1. Parking is available in the village car park at the Colonel Dane Memorial Hall, (follow the "free parking" sign!) or on the road. If parking in Church Street please ensure that traffic can flow freely through the village and that house entrances are not blocked. If you have a Sat Nav or want to check directions online, the postcode is PE7 3UU.
(the entrance to the village car park)
Public Transport
Alwalton is about 4 and a half miles from Peterborough city centre and the nearest train station.
The no 24 bus leaves hourly from Peterborough bus station (aprox 5 min walk from the train station) from 9.20am and takes roughly half an hour. (please double check this nearer the time if you can in case the bus times change).

Lift Sharing
We'd really like to encourage guests with spare seats in their car to consider helping those coming from far and wide on public transport. If you would be willing to offer a lift from the church to the reception venue or if you are arriving by public transport please let us know so we can co-ordinate things.(Comment on here or give us a call or email)
